Another year almost gone

2009 has been a whirlwind year to say the least!  I am very much looking forward to what 2010 has to offer, both on a personal and a professional level.  I’ve already ordered 3 new backdrops.  There should be something for everyone in this mix.  I got a nice pastel with mixes of pinks and blues for the little ones, I got a lighter drop ordered that will be good for any age and also a nice rich red!  I’m very anxious to try that one out.  I’ve purchased some old antique chairs and my list of newborn hats and wraps is almost complete.  My next venture is to find some antique wooden toys and maybe an old doll or two.    I’m also looking for a raggedy ann doll too if anyone knows where I can find one.

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank all my clients both old and new for  making this  an awesome year for me.  I have many repeat clients now and I can’t express enough what this means to me.  My goal for next year was to have a new studio outside my home instead of a ratty room in my basement but becoming a single mom of five, those plans have changed for now.  I am going to work on making what I have more comfortable for  you.  My plans are to brighten up the walls, get a new floor and replace my not so wonderful  existing overhead light fixture (you know what i’m talking about, lol)

I am still taking bookings for 2010, up to June for Monday, Wednesdays and Fridays.  My weekend sessions will be limited and my session fee for a weekend will be $75 as opposed to the existing $60.00

I trust everyone had a very Merry Christmas and I wish you all the best for 2010!  I look forward to seeing my previous clients and new ones alike,  in the New Year.

The big blue bus..or so the kids call it

I argued for many years about getting a large van.  I think originally a 12 passenger was mentioned and I couldnt have even imagined.  This is only a 8 passenger but with adjustments, another seat could be put in the rear.  It carries myself and the 5 kids around just fine and when I have to put my lights in the back, even my giant softbox fits in without any troubles.  I must say, I do love my van.

My Poor Boy

Joe had an ear infection last week and was given an antibiotic (Zithromax) to cure it.  The first dose was a double and 2 hours later his belly couldnt handle it so up everything came (sorry for the graphics) but so I’m told, it’s still in his system after only 20 minutes.  He finished the dose on Friday and by Monday morning the hives started.  Hands and feet especially but then moved up to his whole body and he was scratching like crazy!  Got to the Doctor and she instantly said he was having an allergic reaction.  It was a bit scary I must admit and even day two didnt seem to look much better….

but we are on day three now and it’s much better this morning and I sent him off to school with a note that he’s not contageous, lol

Happy New Year 2009

So hard to believe that there are days that go on forever but the  years seem to roll on by.  Why is that?  I am going to try and be a better blogger this year.  I need to find the time to stop, take a deep breath and complete tasks and in that line of tasks is my blog.  Here are a few from my first session of the new year, 2 year old Benjamin.

The fall season left quite suddenly and now Christmas is right around the corner.  I’m almost totally booked now until the holidays with the exception of some spaces I will fit in for newborns.  I hope to get caught up with some posts in the near future.  Here’s some Christmas Cheer to get you through the holidays :)

Fall at it’s peak

Happy Fall everyone!

This is going to be such a busy weekend with 8 family shoots split between Saturday and Sunday.  I have a beautiful location to work at this year.  Here’s an image from where I’ll be shooting.

Unfortunately I think this is the last weekend for such great colors.  I am hoping i’m wrong because I still have a list waiting for fall family photos.

On that note, here is my baby as we went for an afternoon walk through the colorful neighborhood today.
