Another year almost gone

2009 has been a whirlwind year to say the least!  I am very much looking forward to what 2010 has to offer, both on a personal and a professional level.  I’ve already ordered 3 new backdrops.  There should be something for everyone in this mix.  I got a nice pastel with mixes of pinks and blues for the little ones, I got a lighter drop ordered that will be good for any age and also a nice rich red!  I’m very anxious to try that one out.  I’ve purchased some old antique chairs and my list of newborn hats and wraps is almost complete.  My next venture is to find some antique wooden toys and maybe an old doll or two.    I’m also looking for a raggedy ann doll too if anyone knows where I can find one.

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank all my clients both old and new for  making this  an awesome year for me.  I have many repeat clients now and I can’t express enough what this means to me.  My goal for next year was to have a new studio outside my home instead of a ratty room in my basement but becoming a single mom of five, those plans have changed for now.  I am going to work on making what I have more comfortable for  you.  My plans are to brighten up the walls, get a new floor and replace my not so wonderful  existing overhead light fixture (you know what i’m talking about, lol)

I am still taking bookings for 2010, up to June for Monday, Wednesdays and Fridays.  My weekend sessions will be limited and my session fee for a weekend will be $75 as opposed to the existing $60.00

I trust everyone had a very Merry Christmas and I wish you all the best for 2010!  I look forward to seeing my previous clients and new ones alike,  in the New Year.

The big blue bus..or so the kids call it

I argued for many years about getting a large van.  I think originally a 12 passenger was mentioned and I couldnt have even imagined.  This is only a 8 passenger but with adjustments, another seat could be put in the rear.  It carries myself and the 5 kids around just fine and when I have to put my lights in the back, even my giant softbox fits in without any troubles.  I must say, I do love my van.

So if you ever see me on your travels, don’t forget to wave!

I was able to aquire some newborn knitted props including  baby pods, slings and of course those adorable little hats like the one that little Parker is displaying here.

Just a reminder that the best time to have newborn photos done is around 7 days old. Please contact me if you are expecting or have a new addition welcomed in your home.  I also have gift certificates available as well, redeemable in any denomination.

I’m back!

Phew!  It’s been one crazy summer.  I feel like i’ve been on one wacky roller coaster ride with more down’s than ups but with the fall approaching and  a new outlook, I hope to be more on that uphill grade from now on.  The kids are all anxiously (well not all) awaiting schools return this week and you will see this momma doing the happy dance as the bus leaves our street :)  I will be booking Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays this fall and limited weekends so I can spend more time with my kids. I realize many of you will be working and this is your only option so I will try to accomodate when I can but there will be a higher session fee as a result.

I am working on doing a Weekend Boudoir Marathon at a nice local hotel.  I hope to have the particulars on this event soon so if you are interested, please contact me to put your name on the list.  Ladies, it’s time to show off that beauty..even if it’s only for yourself!  I am also taking names for those wanting family photos with the nice fall colors.  This usually happens the 3rd weekend in October but again, I will take your name and contact you as the leaves start to change.  The first week of November will likely be booked for those wanting photos for Christmas.

Of course I always leave spaces open for my maternity and newborn clients.  If you are planning on doing your belly photos, please let me know ahead of time to get your spot reserved.  The best time is around 34-36weeks and the absolute best time for newborn photos is within the first week after birth.  Make sure i’m on your list of who to call once the baby is born.

I will leave this post with today’s photo of a not so glamorous selfportrait!  That in itself is enough to make me want to kick myself in the rear and get some motivation back.  If I start dragging my heals again, remind me to put on that happy face and get back at it!  Also.. remember to believe in the things that you want in  your life, listen to your heart and follow your dreams.

Baby oh Baby!

My first set of newborn twins and what a pleasure!  Unfortunately the hospital was the first to give them their first haircuts but these identical twin girls have enough sweetness not to matter.

These twins also make up for the 16 babies under 2 months old that I’ve photographed so far this year.  Bring ‘em on!  You all know how much I love newborns.

Family

I’m getting lots of family requests for black on black…I LOVE IT!  It’s Classic.  Thanks Height Family, I had a great time.  Gallery coming soon!
